Project Scope: Boomtown Brewery, situated in the heart of the Arts and Warehouse district, is one of the fastest growing startup breweries in Los Angeles. Boomtown’s mission is to bring artisan beer to the local creative population of LA and the owners wanted their taproom to reflect their goal of creating haven for LA’s community of artists.
For this project, the objective was to create and curate a warm ambiance, while still maintaining the industrial nature of the original building’s manufacturing roots. Utilizing materials that were salvaged during the structural renovation of what is now the taproom, Kollider Industries created a series of six reclaimed wood and steel tables. The tables were encased in Epoxy Resin to highlight the features and rich colors of the salvaged lumber as well as to protect the wood from the acidity of the beer and to withstand the daily rigors of a busy taproom. The tops of the six tables were also designed to showcase a large patterned mosaic, which can be seen from the top of of the entrance to the taproom.
A thirty-foot-long copper patina bar, also coated in epoxy resin, was crafted to compliment the taproom tables and offer a stylish reception for the thirsty patrons in search of tasty Boomtown beers.
