Project Scope: When Venice Beach-based music recording and licensing company Mophonics decided to put down roots in Playa Vista and refurbish a warehouse to make it their own, Kollider Industries was there to help make that dream a reality. In order to add texture to a 5,000 square-foot room that would eventually turn into a multipurpose event space, the team at Kollider covered a 45-foot wall and windows with wood that had been stained and treated to enhance the overall atmosphere. Two bars were also assembled using reclaimed mahogany that had first been used in the construction of ships during WWI and then later used to build bleachers for schools in Detroit. By mounting over 150 boards and covering four large windows and building the two large bars from wood with a rich history, the installment not only enhanced the overall aesthetic of the room, but also provided additional sound dampening capabilities so that visitors, party-goers, and musicians can express themselves freely.
Kollider Industries also worked with Tess Bethune Interiors to bring to life a large asymmetrical wood slat installation, designed to compliment the window slat wall. Utilizing our in-house CNC machine we were able to create the sharp angles necessary to bring a beautiful design to reality.
